Flicking through the TV channels and got drawn into this TV show.
Is it based on reality/based on facts?
They appear to be digging holes everywhere on this land mass looking for gold and treasure from the knights Templar...
It appears to be absolute nonsense, so I'm asking to see if I'm just grumpy or it really is made up mince.
I'm not going to commit to it, but I am wondering what they find and if it is of any significance...I'm obviously not going to know as unlikely to watch again.
Expecting them to actually find something of value is like expecting the 'Hunting Bigfoot' mob to actually find a sasquatch.Â
The secret is how they get people to watch this junk and make money from TV doing it.
Ok, so sounds like I was right to be sceptical...
I've caught the end of the program a few times. They get very excited over some rotten planks, which they try to tie to knight templar in the most spurious way.Â
I'd believe it if they recruited Tony Robinson and crew!
See also any 'ghost hunting' TV show with shaky cameras, idiots screaming at shadows and tons of false drama. A vehicle for advertising to the truly gullible. Anyone thick enough to believe what they are watching is likely to buy any old shite an advertiser cares to offload. It must be very lucrative.
Tv for Trump supporters?
All fairly believable...during the adverts it appears to be the same channel as some.alien show thing with that guy there is a meme off telling us it was aliens.
Very aware it was a very low-hanging fruit TV channel, just left trying to figure out the appeal/attraction of making it and if it is based on actual facts.
It just doesn't strike me as having any real value, to anyone...
I think that the 'treasure' was plundered a long time ago, and everything else since is chasing shadows. Who built it, god knows. It's still a great story.
The secret is, there is no treasure.
I believe the show is an experiment to see how little content you can get away with to create a 40 minute episode of, what you saw earlier, what you might see next etc
I remember stories about treasure on Oak Island from back when I was a child, I think it was supposed to be Blackbeard or some old pirate then. I reckon if there was treasure there it would have been found by now.
