Hey,

It's warming up and now I'm not wearing my new smart work hoodies, I've noticed that my t-shirts all look like they belong to a tramp. Where can I get some t-shirts that look good enough and vaguely interesting, for the morning stand-up meeting?

Cheers,

Mick

I really miss my 'The Jobby Face' t-shirt. If anyone knows where to get them, please let me know!

I'm currently getting a lot of my shirts from...
https://skwiggles.co.uk/tee-shirts/

I'm also a pretty regular buyer from...
https://www.qwertee.com/

And...
https://dukeandsons.com/collections/top-funny-t-shirts

Although, I do appreciate that working in a lab at a university, I may have a wee bit more freedom of expression than in a normal workplace!

Bit by bit, OP is using STW to select his entire lifestyle. Which he'll regret. 🙂

Gotta be a Mick Lynch t-shirt, right? 🙂

I like their stuff, their newsletter is fantastic, and they give to people who need it - what's not to like? 🙂

the fox tech tees are my fave

the tech material (most brands do something similar) is light and nice to wear and doesnt seem to age that badly either. I`ve nukeproof and ripcurl ones as well and they are all nice.

I'm working my way through my collection of free/gizzet t-shirts from conferences and vendor visits. Even after taking a binbag full of them to the Red Cross before I emigrated I still have a drawer of them. Luckily, they will never go out of style in the IT world.

I just buy y shirts that support small brands I am into. Local bmx shop, some trail builders whatever you're into. Better that than yet another fox t shirt or "old guys rules etc"

Naked Sprout is unbleached. 😉

Actually really good stuff - we've switched to their kitchen roll and tissues, too. 🙂

I think my kids are buying me t-shirts* from hmv or similar as I currently have a jedi one, a darth vadar one and best of all, aliens. Obvs this is all well out of date, so I will probably get one next year with that big monster thing from Stranger Things.

*making me look more 'old dad' than I already am...?

T-shirts should be plain, any colour you like... but plain.

I am not wearing M+S t shirts!

I know I'm not cool and get all my fashion advice from a load of aging MTBers but I'm not that sad.

I do not understand paying more for a T-Shirt.

Guess it depends if you're paying more just for a brand name and imagine or for quality, sustainability or ethics.

I have loads of decathalon stuff, but their supply chain can be a bit iffy.

I live in these…

for £5.99

Yep I have some of those from 2005 and they just keep on trucking no matter how badly I treat them.

I have bought some from Amazon that also seem to stand up to the abuse of a messy engineer 😉

If you don't fancy the slogan/graphic ones they do bundles of plain ones for a good price. Wearing a plain one now as it happens

I buy a lot of wfh stuff from Hollister and Superdry. Not the gaudy tie-dye or lurid logo stuff though.

Hollister is the cheapest - got a number of nice summer colours from them at about £9 a t shirt recently. Just plain colours / normal sort of cut (not too baggy) with a tiny little subtle logo the same colour as the t shirt.

I also find their long sleeved t shirts decent for the winter and reasonably priced.

Canali, Sunspel, John Smedley.
Plain colours, well made; no lurid prints - in fact, no prints of any kind.

Nope, my wardrobe consists mostly of band t-shirts, with some bike ones thrown in. I’ve got an original Buzzcocks tee from when I saw them with Squeeze and Radio Stars. It’s had the sleeves hacked off and made into a sort of tank/vest top, ‘cos I was 45 years younger, and a bit slimmer than I am now; XL instead of M these days!

Jealous of the Black Flag tee; waiting for the new Pixies album and Tee at the moment.

As above Rapanui are really good but their T-shirts run a bit small sometimes. Finisterre T-shirts are amazing quality especially if you pick them up in the sale. There’s one on now I believe…damn you Finisterre! Colourful Standard also have amazing quality organic T-shirts that are all plain and come in every imaginable colour. Their hoodies are also the cosiest things ever!
