Odd one this....
I've got a 15 litre water carrier in the van, it turns out it has a hole in it..sure you can guess the rest.
Basically on the way to Laggan last week it leaked a good few litres all over the floor in the back of the van with the end result being the carpet is properly sodden. The obvious answer would be to take the carpet out and dry it, however I have shelving along one wall of the van and, stupidly I know, its under them and they are fixed to the walls.
I am just after some Singletrack massive ideas on how to dry it out because the only solution I can see at the moment is cutting it out and replacing the main floor panel bit.
Other issue which is very annoying is because there is so much moisture inside the windscreen was soaking this morning and is no properly streaky, so if anybody has any remedies to clean the inside of a windscreen that would be great too 🙁

Put a fan heater and a dehumidifier in it for a few days. You can hire dehumidifiers if you don't have one.

open the windows and leave it somewhere sunny to heat up properly and evaporate the moisture.

if you can open teh rear doors and get some sun on the wet bit that will help.

you can wipe a windscreen with a cloth 😉

What they said in the first instance. You're lucky with the weather this week!

Dehumidifier and try and park it in the sun.

Get it sorted though - all that condensation you can see is also forming where you can't.

Suck it up with a wet vac.

Remove any excess by putting down something absorbent like a towel and whacking it.

Fan heater to evaporate what’s  left

Hire an extraction/upholstery vac from a tool hire shop (or rug doctor machine from supermarket/b&q hire)
Get the worst of it out with that, then try the above methods for the rest.

Dehumidifier. I bought one (Ecoair DD122FW) when my car got rather wet and it did a great job, admittedly took a few days. Now use it for drying washing, great bit of kit.

Don't use a fan heater, that won't do much. Wet vac may be worth a try for the bulk of it, but you'll still need something to get to the bits you can't reach.

I had a similar sort of issue several months ago after the lift/sliding sunroof in my Octavia leaked into the driver’s side footwells, in particular the back one, it did it a couple of times, leading to several litres of water to bale out!
I literally scooped out the water with a plastic mug, then soaked up more with some old towels, wringing out even more excess.
I used a hot-air blower to dry out a bit more, then I was lucky enough to find a dehumidifier bag in the boot of a car I was inspecting, and the floor has been dry for some time now.
To avoid a repeat, I sealed over the edges of the sunroof with Wilco’s all-weather waterproof tape.

As others have said, shop vac etc, fan with all the doors open, drive with heat on full and windows open for a few days. Trouble is without taking the carpet up you won't know if there is moisture trapped anywhere underneath doing damage to the floor until you fall through it

Just been doing this with my Berlingo which seems to be letting water in somewhere. Been getting really bad condensation which would never fully clear.

Dehumidifier left in the car while I work has gotten out lots. It's the way to go.

Short term, and very handy to have in the car anyway is a small squeegee like you get to clean shower cubicles with. Great for getting rid of condensation quick without getting any smears like you do with a cloth and oils from your hands.

once the carpet has fully dried...

Kayak23 ... you need to find that leak.

I didn't in my old Golf GTI and one day I found literally a pool of water in a footwell with a weed growing !! I didn't use the car much, it would sometimes sit on my drive for weeks without me needing to used it, and I ended up drilling through the floor pan to allow the water to drain away. Surprisingly over time it royally messed up the interior of the car (mould on the ceiling etc) .... So if the car means anything to you I suggest to try and get it sorted.

Have you had a new windscreen recently? ... I think that was the cause of mine ?

Good Luck.
