My partner and I are planning a trip in September to the Alps, roughly built around the XCM world championships in Verbier. The idea is that I'll race, then we'll spend a week or so bumbling around in the van hiking and having a nice time. We're thinking of heading straight out of Switzerland once the racing is finished for budget and culinary reasons, but other than that have no real planned destinations apart from being somewhere pretty.
If I was by myself I'd plan some routes and muddle through but she's very keen on getting some kind of guide for anything more than easy walking, so we're looking for recommendations or good places to look. I've got no idea what I'm looking at so the hundreds of results that come up on google are baffling.
We're after 1-3 day trips, physically hard but not too technically demanding (she's not got an appetite for exposed heights and neither of us much experience on ice or snow). We're both pretty fit so a large or slow group might get frustrating. We’d both be happy with 10hrs+ per day of walking.
Outdoor sleeping is fine, but I don't own much ultralight gear any more so there'd need to be a hire option, otherwise it’s day trips or huts.
Anyone done anything like this or know the best places to look?
TL;DR:
Recommendations for guided hiking in the Eastern Alps. 1-3 days. Physically hard but not massively technical or exposed.
Can't beat the Tour du Mont Blanc for vigorous but non-technical walking with fantastic views all the way round. Might be a bit longer than you're thinking, but there's loads of outfitters that will make it easy for you by transferring kit etc. Try KE Adventures or Exodus in the UK to start with. Easily done unguided if you're confident.

I did it on bike a while ago, and met a lot of walkers just doing part of it. So that could be a good option?
Would be fine self-guiding with maps.
if you are in Verbier could always do https://www.valais.ch/en/explore/activities/hiking/hiking-tours/val-de-bagnes-tour
That time of year the Dolomites would be a great option. Lots of huts, well signed trails. You could contact tourist offices for details of walking guides, or put together an itinerary from your own research. We are going for a week in summer as a family, self guided 3 days hut to hut with a bit of valley chill and Venice either side. The cicerone dolomites guide book is good.
