Tried to take a video with my mobile, but would have been too obvious 🙂

It's GOT to have been an STWer!

I nipped in to use the toilets at Cafe Lochan at Tarbet (Loch Lomond) yesterday on my way back from a bit of climbing.

There was a guy in his 40's sat on a bench which faces the loch, with his bike (hardtail Core) resting gently next to him, just like a cute couple.

Instead of admiring the fine views over the loch, he was gently touching various parts of his bike and casting his eyes all the way from the rear mech up to the stem 🙂 I was pissing myself laughing, I've probably done the same thing with a new bike (although maybe not so intensely!).

Had on all the kit too, "heavy duty all mountain freeride hero" type stylee.

Please, please, please let it have been someone on here!

What makes you think they'd admit to it seeing how you've described it? You could have started with a "Was this you?" post and then launched into detail once their identity was confirmed.

Wasn't me btw, just in case that sounds too much like a denial... 😀

I'm hoping that they are so proud of their steed that they will be willing to put their hand up anyway (just like that car advert where the guy takes a punch for splashing a little girl, but it turns out it wasn't his car anyway) 🙂

Heh, maybe it was his first ride on the bike or he worked bloody hard in some shite job to save up for it.

It's nice something as simple as a bike can make someone happy.

don't get me wrong, we've all been there 🙂

as i said, i'm sure i'm guilty of it myself from time to time (I used to look at my Cove Shocker when I finished building it instead of watching a movie with my girlfriend, which also meant I was keeping it in the living room at that time too!)

but this was just such a public display of affection 😉

Hahah +1 Wool.

Spent 4 months of my summer hols between uni terms.... slaving my arse off 70 hours a week...getting shouted at by my head chef....for 5.50 an hour....saved up 3 grand.....

....and splurged the majority of it on a Nukeproof Mega (You only live once, who cares if I end up eating into my student overdraft). When I got the frame, I put it in my bedroom so I could fawn over it and be able to get up in the morning for work....my missus didn't understand!

I'm right blood proud of doing that, so it's my baby now and I'll track down and murder anyone who steals it...pulp fiction style!
