Never mind all the existential threats in the news today, this is really something to worry about https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-54057512

Sounds like a sticky situation...

The (wagon) wheels are really falling off this country.

Our IT centre was almost next door to the Burtons factory so we always had massive stocks of broken biscuits, sold from the factory door by weight. Mint Viscounts were the favoured option.

If they do go on strike, I wonder how long they will be a wafer?

production of Wagon Wheels and Jammie Dodger biscuits could be halted at an Edinburgh factory this month as staff strike over pay, a union has warned.

The most 1970’s Britain thing I’ve read all day. It’s beginning to feel a little like the 1970’s except without the soul music, the lawn-sprinklers or the kids playing kerb-ball in the street.

I genuinely have no sympathy for anything that happens to Burtons bisuits.

They continue to perpetrate the blatant lie that Wagon Wheels haven't reduced in size since the 1970's.

They say that "they only seem smaller because your hands have got bigger"

Utter bullshit. They deserve everything that they get.

I think it’s fair to say in these uncertain times, the staff knead the dough.

But a strike seems severe, that’s a rocky road they’re going down.

That’s the rough size difference since the late 70’s in my mind. They can say it isn’t, but wheel all know it’s a massive lie.

I'm still convinced that curly wurlys were at least 2ft long when I was a kid.

Nothing to do with me being 3ft tall back then, and 6ft tall now, nooo... 😊

Look at those revolting finger nails

Reminds me I used to be a terrible nail biter. Two things helped me stop.
1. Rock climbing - having nails helped support fingertips on those tinies.
2. Working as a main drainage engineer!

I'm not sure whether to salute the 90% of headline writers who went with "crunch talks" for their chewy consistency, or to admire the ones that played it totally straight.
