[Closed] Well that’s made a hard decision easy - the parks in Orlando are closed

We’ve been mulling whether to push in with our holiday to Orlando later this month but just seen they’ve closed Disney and Universal until at least the end of March. Suspect it’ll get extended though.

Made that an easy decision! Anyone else travelling imminently may want to keep an eye on it. I know anyone who has booked with Virgin who is due to travel before end of May can rebook anyway FoC for any date before the end of the year and that’s likely to get extended.

Blimey, I was only looking last week if all the fuss had dropped flight prices to Orlando.

It hadn't. I'm glad now, though.

We're supposed to be going over Easter but expecting to be cancelled. Just need the FCO to change their guidance now to cover the cost of the holiday under the cancellation clause of the travel insurance should we not be able to re-arrange for next year, which is what our travel agent is trying to do. Too expensive a holiday to just write off...

They’re taking the Mickey.

Very good.

Some are blaming the Donald though.

@wobbliscott - if the parks are still closed over Easter then I’d argue that the holiday is materially different to the one you booked. The parks are why you go to Orlando.

Virgin are just letting us change our dates but as of yesterday only for rebooking to to the end of the year and I think I’d rather move it to next Easter now.

Thanks Danny, we'll see where we get to with trying to postpone a year. I'm sure we could claim for elements of the holiday as and when parks close etc. but would rather just go next year now when all the fuss has died down.

Everything’s Frozen but some can’t let it go. No doubt we’ll be hearing about this Olaf the time now. Etc...
