Some swine moved the door frame a couple of inches to the left just as I was walking through and I managed to catch my little toe on it.

Split the nail in half and ripped one half off and broke the little toe.

Worth a trip to A&E?

They don't normally do much with broken toes do they?

I sent a jackhammer over my big toe and second toe years ago, had to cut my boot of due to the swelling, never went H.
They are both a bit shorter but never caused me any probs.

Did you take that photo by the window, in natural daylight and have you adjusted the white balance?

I'd be getting that looked at by a medic. Even if they can't do anything at least you'll never regret that they might have been able to do something.

naturally. My foot is a work of art you know. Look at the delicate way the bruising follows the wrinkles in the skin

Good leg or bad leg? On the bad side I'd be taking it for a doc to look at, don't want to end up compromising it further for the sake of hanging around A&E for a few hours. Healing vibes and all that.

Bad leg. The painful bit was pulling the shattered nail of the nail bed. Didn't actually notice the impact until wife complained I was leaving blood splats 🙂 The benefits of having smashed the nerve network in the foot I guess

Jesus christ.

Your catalogue of avoidable injuries over the years is impressive.

Never has one lived up to their forum name so completely.

I did exactly the same thing about 5 years ago.
Didn't bother with A&E as there isn't much they can do with a little toe. Brufen helped the pain and swelling. However, with your knackered nerve network in may be worth getting it looked at just in case.
My toe nail now grows in two halves with one half pointing almost vertically upwards. It's a nuisance but no other lasting effects.

Going to A and E would be misguided. I am sure it,s not as bad as it sounds

They've probably given your usual bed in soton general to one of them malingering covid fakers.
I have a set of 20" bolt croppers...access to copious amount of alcohol and a youtube video account.
We could cauterise it with a glowing car cigarette lighter.
Be fine, i mean its already broken and its not as if its going to fix itself..... Oh hang on a minute. Balls.

All the stick I got for wearing safety flip flops while filming "Are you bored enough..." and it was walking to the kitchen that got me

Was gonna say you should spend more time using random power tools and avoid just walking around 🙂

They'll check to make sure the two ends of the bone are vaguely aligned. Otherwise no. Unless it's your big toe.
I would be getting someone to look at the nailbed though. Last place you want an infection

I pulled it straight and squeezed it into the right shape before I pulled the nail off. Also thoroughly washed it and a generous blob of Savlon Advanced Healing Gel over the exposed nail bed.
