In other news, blind people ride bikes, play football, golf, chess, and even do archery at the olympics (not the paralympics)

Look, it even happens in the UK

Bit of a difference between doing those activities in a controlled environment and doing them in public or having a conceled carry permit.

I'm also not aware of anyone being killed by playing chess.

Well yes, I'm aware that there are blind biathletes too, but that's done with trick guns and targets. How on earth you get a good shot on a deer when you're blind is quite a trick.

killed to death while arguing over a chess move during a game, I think you could say chess directly attributed to his death 🙂

My chess teacher at school said I was bad at it because I made dangerous moves, but even I never stabbed anyone with a pawn.

Strikes me that mostly, accidental gun deaths aren't due to shooting at the wrong thing, they're due to careless handling and accidental discharges and he'll probably be at less risk of that than most. I don't get the hunting motivation but that's really no different from any other hunter.
