Had 2 new rear calipers, pads and discs last week. Had a warning light saying stop immediately brake service urgent - mechanic topped up fluid and all ok until tonight. Driving to a t junction and car cut out, wouldn’t restart and “brake failure” warning light came on. Turned key off and then restarted the car with no issue. Wtf is going on????

Hazarding a guess but "brake fluid topped up" may suggest air left behind or a fluid leak somewhere.

Or it could be an electrical / reprogramming / fault code clearing gremlin from the changeover.

Or knackered sensor disturbed/failed.

I had two ABS sensors go on my Passat in quick succession. All was ok one minute then the dash was lit up like Oxford Street at Christmas both times. Although neither time did the car stop working.

Second time the warning reset itself when I switched it off and on again but only for about two minutes.

I'm guessing a bit. Sadly it'll be a trip to the diagnostic machine!

You really need to get the codes read on Vida (which is the Volvo software) as it could be anything to do with the breaking system including the abs and traction control.
