For those who are local - Bannerdale road

9am

2 drivers nose to nose both refusing to move.

Van driver gets it and has a fag

Car driver reclines seat and dozes off

I knocked on the window and asked him politely to reverse and get the traffic flowing

His retort was a dozy "I'm retired, I've got no where to go, he can move"

Van driver could not, even if he'd have wanted to, move!

This stand off lasted at least 15 minutes!

Very odd indeed

I’m retired

I believe there's a thread about that.

Encountered same situation last Thursday in the labyrinthian single track roads in the Gleniffer Braes above Paisley, drop side Cooncil Transit nose to nose with an SUV. Took great delight in hopping of my stead climbing on to the narrow grass verge and leaving them to it. Probably still there.

This thread is missing the customary "I keep a paperback in my glovebox..." anecdote.

Standards are slipping.
