I saw a car whilst commuting a few days ago which looked frankly space aged.

I only saw it for a few seconds so description isn't detailed.

It looked wider at the front than the rear, white, not particularly sporty but pretty unique in a way that hypdraulic old citroen looks. It was vaguely similar in shame but of today's design and materials.

I've done some initial googling and Honda FCV concept comes pretty close but maybe I've not seen enough.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Looking at pics of the FCZ concept, I can't help but think it maybe looks like we thought the future would look like in the 70s-90s. 😛

Anyway, could it be a riversimple?

Thanks all.

I think it must have been a Honda Insight or possibly VW XL1.

Per above - sounds like early Honda Insight might be a possibility?

Fantastic! I love Richard Scarry’s stuff, as does my 6-year-old, who will happily have me read him my 42year old copy of that book.

Insights are cool. There’s a great community set up focusing on updating their power packs and control units. They get some phenomenal economy from then.

don't mean to hijack, but no-one at home seems interested

coming back from Twickenham the other day, I saw one of these on the M4 https://www.evo.co.uk/gallery/carreviews/evocarreviews/205679/bristol_fighter.html

only between 9 and 14 made. Now that's rare.

i was impressed, anyway

We've a Honda Insight ZE1 and a CRZ Coupe in Dunblane, both in white.
The ZE1 is a fabulous looking thing, from early 2000's I think.

Me too, I used to love that book as a kid - I still do, in fact! I used to try and forget where goldbug was so I could find him again! Happy days 👍😎

I saw this twice on the road back in the early 2000s. Took some research to work it out, I didn't have the licence plate to cheat with either. Only 7 built.

Strange Car
