You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Had a quick look on the app store and it appears to be a minefield.
Any recommendations, please?
i just use google 'keep' which an electronic notepad. easier than a dedicated app for me. id be happy using a paper notepad too, dont see any real requirement to use a dedicated weightlifting app.....
Not a dedicated gym user by any stretch of the imagination but I use FitNotes (it is all one word) and I quite like that
I've always gone for excel/google sheets to track things. Make one up for each cycle, whether it's 4/6/10 weeks, whatever, and then just reload next cycles data back into a fresh document.  You can then have a look back at where you were quite easily then.
This is a good powerlifting focused 6 week cycle that I'm spinning through at the moment.
Other half writes it down in a notebook, it's just whatever suits!
I've been using the 5x5 stonglifts app - seems ok and not over complicated.
Google sheets works for me, just more flexible generally I find
Are you following a specific programme? Or are you freestyling? If it's the former, you'll probably find loads of people have made .xls spreadsheets to track those programmes (often including formulae to calculate percentages at cetera).
I spent a long time using the Stronglifts 5x5 app (which is really great, if you want to follow the Stronglifts 5x5 programme). I've since moved onto a different programme, and I downloaded a corresponding spreadsheet, as above.
A spreadsheet sometimes, a bit of paper and pen is what I take to the gym if I'm keeping a record of things.
StrongLifts for me.
Ive been using Bodybuilding.coms Bodyspace for a few years. it allows you to follow premade work outs or set up your own, has a timer for rest periods and previous weight used if you forget from week to the next what weight you were using.
I just use iOS notes.
No, I'm old school. Notepad & pen. Easy enough to write down any targets for a few weeks at a stretch. Costs practically nothing. Doesn't matter if you drop a 50kg dumbbell on it, or someone walks on it, or you drop it.
<span style="font-size: 12.8px;">Jefit is worth a look </span>
I use JEFIT
Has both Apple and Android app. Takes a little while to input your workouts but then its easy to track them each time.
A small notepad for me.
just an old fashioned notebook, I'm too easily distracted if I see it flashing with an email (form work), so no tech for me in the gym 😀
jefit. not perfect but pretty good. Lacking some (basic IMO) exercises but i sub them for similar ones. eg. bench press instead for floor press.
