Anybody use one? What bikes will they not work with. Some of the user reviews we have looked at say it didn't fit there bike. Want it to fit a Marin east peak(2008) and an orange alpine(2010). Prob not the best bikes for it I no but would rather use them than build up the hard tail in he shed.

I opted for the Bobike Mini instead. CLICK HERE
I have found it to be easy to fit/remove, and it is a direct fit to your steerer tube providing you have 20mm of spacers spare.

I have one and despite what this picture may suggest the wee man loves it. I tried it on a Cotic Soul at first, it fit the bike ok but made it very difficult to ride. The seat got in the way of my knees, and reaching over the top was hard.

Fitting it to this big old steel roadie was much better, nice and high out of the way of my knees and swept back bars for more upright position for dad. I know people fit them to mountain bikes, but I'm really not sure how....

Thanks for both the replys. I guess building the Halfords Fury is my best option, its only for a trundle round the park and similar rides. They say it fits to all bikes but that seems a bit optimistic. On a full suspension the rear shock would sink with the weight of the seat and the baby i think.
Any tips for getting them to not to pull the helmet of when there wearing it?

I had one on a Wolf Ridge - iirc it was only a tiny bit tricky fitting it - as you can't readily adjust saddle height once installed.

More of a problem was the small child grabbing a handful of brake lever - because of the 'wee' were pitching over the bars feeling.

Have fitted it to my Genesis hardtail. If you have a short top tube you may struggle. I have to adopt a bit of a John Wayne cycling style when using it but the wee lad loves it.

Watch for them trying to steer/brake though and make sure you wrap them up warm as they act as a great windbreak for you without doing any exercise to keep warm.

I think it's much better than a rear mounted 1 but car drivers behind you can't see the sprog and they don't always give you more room as they tend to with a rear mounted one

another vote for the bobike mini, easy to remove when not in use and you can get extra mounts to use it on multiple bikes.

i had the mini on the front and maxi on the back and the buggy in the buggy carrier....but then i am dutch!

I'd say they work with most bikes. You'll need to source some longer bolts for a bike with 1.5/tapered headtube though.
I've had our WeeRide on:
Cannondale Gemini
Specialized Enduro SX
Cannondale Prophet
Cannondale Chase
Orange Blood
Specialized FSR XC

Wasn't such a good fit on the FSR XC as it's my wife's bike and the top tube is quite short. But still worked.

Fine on a Giant Anthem 2009. Needed longer bolts though as internal o/s headset thingy. Think I bought M6 x 65mm (about £2per 10 on ebay).

The one thing you can't do is straddle the cross bar. Therefore either the seat needs to be lower or you have to get used to swinging a leg over the back of the bike when you stop

dont line the look of the bobike mounting. bit flimsy for off road singletracking with nipper on board.

the weeride fits lovely on the '09 norco lt2. the nipper loves razzing the singletrack at stanmer. yes you are a bit bow legged but you arnt out to win races with teh nipper on board! I got it from action bikes in town and they were a bit shocked when i dragged my 66/saint shod bike in to test it fitted!

unless you have an intergrated headset or really low stack headset/stem combo it should be good to go on any bike.

had to get longer bolts to fit it to my cannondale trail SL (1.5 headtube) but she doesnt like it so much on this bike as the bike only has front suss and she gets a bit bounced about. which may be due to over-enthusiastic riding from daddy....

We have a WeeRide and littl'un loves it. Great that he can see something other my arse! I fitted it to the wifes hardrock as it hasn't seen much use of late and would recommend fitting it to a dedicated bike. The fixing bar is pretty hefty and not something you'd want to leave on for a ride on your own, and it's a bit of a nuisance to get on and off (read, more than a 2 minute job, I'm lazy).

As above also, I have to ride knees out and have fitted an adjustable stem to bring the bars up a bit - as he's got bigger he's getting impeded a little by my moobs.

All in all though a great seat and glad we went for it.

I have one and its about the only thing that fits my 16" Bluepig

Not the most comfortable ride for me but my daugter loves it.
I have to drop the saddle and adopt a wider legged approach but it kind of works.
Some swept back bars would make it better still, but if I'm going to do that I may as well build a dedicated Kiddie carrier bike with No2 on the way too 😀

When I bought my weeride around 6 months ago it came with an extra set of long bolts for 1.5 head tube and the like.

Ours has ended up on a tandem:

They're ever so slightly crudely made but they work. May need higher bars and if you're below average height you'll end up with your chin on your nipper's head. +1 for wrapping passenger up warm -- gloves especially.

On a full suspension the rear shock would sink with the weight of the seat and the baby i think.

Just put more air in, it's no different to just being a heavier rider.
