Always used 34sp, but are getting a bit expensive me. Bloody good outfit though. But need 10 databasee etc at 95quid per year.

Easyspace, I've used before but getting not so good reviews. Tempted by 45quid.

basic site, with my own wordpress installation required. thats all.

Any recommendations or suggestions of other good hosters.

I've used Dreamhost for years. There are no restrictions on number of databases. They have decent offers on at the moment and are pretty powerful. You get full ssh access to the shell, crontab access etc.

Has anyone tried static hosting in a aws s3 bucket. Or micro ec2 with lamp installed? Both would be free first year.

Krystal, works fine for me, seems quite reasonably priced. https://krystal.co.uk/

Use Hetzner and Ramnode (with the Netherlands for location). But that's for physical servers and VPS. You can then choose you're operating system and run whatever you want however you want.

"aws s3 bucket ... micro ec2 with lamp ... free"

S3 works really well for static sites. With Cloudfront + cross region replication when you want bombproof reliability. But it isn't free because you'll end up with bandwidth charges. And doesn't meet the OP's requirements.

Lightsail / DigitalOcean / OVH / Chunkhost / Linode cheaper than EC2 at the really small, really cheap, bandwidth included end of the market.

Does not meet ops requirements

Surely an ec2 with lamp would mean practically unlimited databases? I've no idea what the bandwidth charges are though

I was referring to the S3 option. EC2 you can run as many as you can fit in a t2.micro (not many) if you want to stay in free tier. Backed by EBS, which you'll have to pay for. Or use the free RDS allowance for one DB.

I use 10p/GB as a rough bandwidth price, although crashing pound means it's closer to 15p now.

Sorry typo on my original post.

I only need 1 database. Not 10 +

Still MythicBeasts looks like a good option.

Thanks to all again, who helped. 🙂
