Set up is reasonably small, conference table at about 2.5m x 1.2m with six seats around it. Webcam will sit about a metre from the end of the table on top of a 65" tv.
I bought a cheapish webcam from Currys that claims to be HD etc but doesn't do a great job at focussing on the entire room i.e. the seats around the table collectively. Did I underestimate the need for enhanced functionality in such a device and are Currys type options for single user set ups?
A quick google and some options described specifically as 'conference cameras' run into the hundreds! Am I going to have to raid the back of the sofa or should a £50 type option do the job?
We’ve used a Logitech 920 for this - worked just fine and replaced some far fancier solutions
Will auto zoom on speaker or group. Have in office, pretty decent. Get separate Mic for table too.
There is the Opal cam too that does pretty well in all light conditions.
A £50 option won't do the job - the Curry's one are personal webcams for use at home or on an individual desk. If they do have a microphone in them, it won't do a great job of picking up speech from everyone in the room, nor will it give any audio.

The P15 works really well in a room that size, and gives you video and audio - no need for separate table mic. USB connection so you just plug it into any laptop and it works with Zoom, Teams, etc.
Anker c300 here in a small meeting room for about 6-8people.
It works fine, once we had worked out how to kill the echo in the room with soft furnishings.
Hooked up to and perched on top of HD telly on wall.
@matt - how many soft furnishings are we talking here - I don't want to save 300 quid on the webcam then to spend 400 on cushions! Its a very non-soft furnishings space at the moment!
