I want to change the hosting for a small Wordpress site, I'm fed up with TSO Host.
Alternative low-cost providers with good customer service and easy billing?
And my domain is up for renewal soon, can should I move that over too? I'm very non-techie BTW.
I use hosting.co.uk to host my forum.
We've had a few up and down moments but mostly it's excellent
I use hosting.co.uk too. I had to transfer as my previous lot were closing down and it was relatively painless. That was three years ago and I've had no problems.
There is a company run by someone on here. I’d bookmarked it for moving my wife’s business website over too when the current deal expires but I can’t find it now. They seemed to have really good prices.
Found it. Mythic beasts
Dare I say it: AWS are really cheap. $0.50 per month for hosting and an S3 bucket is free/dirt cheap.
It’s a good option for a static website and if you know a little web design..
We use Ionos at work to host 3 sites and park a couple of dozen web addresses we own. Never had any issues, unlike our old hosts.
Second mythic beasts
Thanks folks, I will check out all those mentioned.
🙂
I also endorse Mythic Beasts, but I wasn't aware anyone from there is on here!
Chapking, whas the issue with tso? Our hosting is with them and I have had a fuew issues - mostly due to the server ip range getting banned for spam so none of our emails arrive. Makes me super annoyed. I am looking for alt also.
whas the issue with tso?
Billing is a shitshow, it can't remember my card details, customer service seems to have got much worse and you can't drop down to a cheaper package - you have to start a new account and go through transfer process.
Oh, that is crap as that was one of my alternate moves, to drop down cheaper....
@chakaping is it a commercial site you want to move? If not I use heroku as they have a free tier for personal projects.
If I go commercial I tend to use Linode at it's lowest tier of £5p/m
Both have been a pleasure to work with but I appreciate this totally depends on your use case.
