Bought the OH a weather station about 18 months ago, finally got round to putting it up this morning 😳
It's just a cheapo job from Maplins. Data is sent to the unit in the house which I'm then going to connect to an old laptop which will always be on.

The station came with Easyweather. I want to upload the data to Wunderground and publish as part of their PWS. Anyone recommend any Windows software that is easy to set up, use and upload?

Not used it myself, but I think Cumulus should work. From http://sandaysoft.com/

I think the Maplin weather station is a rebranded Fine Offset WH1081, which is listed as supported.

Yes I think you're right about it being a rebranded Fine Offset.

I'll have a look at Cumulus, thanks.

There's a list on the WeatherUnderground website: https://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/hardwareandsoftware.asp

If you're looking for other ideas, I feed my Maplins weather station onto WeatherUnderground using a Raspberry Pi (about £30) as described here: http://www.weather.dragontail.co.uk/index.php?page=pywws_setup

The Pi sits neatly tucked out of the way and uses very little power. Was a fun challenge to set up. Updates every minute and also has its own Twitter account.

Yours,

Thanks all.

Stirling - I love the idea of having a Raspberry Pi to do the job. It's something I've been toying with for a while. However, it's taken me ages to actually put the weather station up so I don't want to spend ages on how to set up a Pi too.

Got Cumulus up and running and receiving data from the weather station. Set up for Wunderground PWS and Met Office WOW for some reason the station isn't listed as reporting yet, but hopefully it will following some kind of approval and/or web update.

Ooh - what's your ID?

Next: think about a solar-powered fan to cool the thermometer on sunny days, and be prepared to clear the occasional spider's web from the rain gauge. Enjoy!
