Just had a new shed installed.

What's the best clear weather proof coating I can put on it?

Or do as I do and I just use a preservative that soaks in rather than applying a 'top coat'. I just bung it on and, once dry, the shed just looks like a shed with no artificial coating at all - but it has preservative soaked into the wood itself.

It is pressure treated so that's the same sort of thing isn't it?

Yes, but I just top it up every couple of years.

Do you definitely want clear? Something with a bit of colour to it will give better protection.

It would only give it better UV protection though, it wouldn't weather seal it any better.

But the uv will break down the weather seal of the clear coat faster. Yes coloured stain won't offer extra weather protection but it will mean your weather protection lasts longer.
