Have we done this?

Murdoch wants his own pet John Humphries et al, to promote his papers..

Personally, I can't stand the original, so unlikely to listen to a right wing clone of it....

I find R4's morning Today programme too much about politics so often change over to R3 to soothe my fury when another dickhead in a German sports saloon cuts me up. But in the evenings driving home the PM programme is excellent and often very entertaining thanks to the breadth and depth of its features. It really is excellent listening for anybody with a curious mind who enjoys hearing about things outside their normal sphere of interest.

Since I (foolishly) bought a car without DAB, I have found myself drawn to R4 during the driving trips for work. Never bothered with Humphries and the morning stuff, to much political bobbins so I try to avoid.
Do enjoy the science and health shows during the afternoon, the media show is pretty good as well. There was a moneybox live the other day all about the gig economy, very interesting.

Completely agree, I mostly listen to the World Service in the morning. The news reporting is pretty factual (It tells you who said what and leaves it at that) and includes international news that doesn’t get a look in on R4. I come away feeling like I know a bit more about something rather than getting worked up by repeated sound bites of the 'duty politician’ pretty much saying what they are told to say.

I find the inconsistency of questioning infuriating, they get a charity worker on and grill then to death, then they have say David Davies and John Humpries toughest question is 'how great is your progress on Brexit so far' or something utterly pathetic. The Today program is / used to be, incredibly inconsistent / biased.

Agreed. R4 is a bit right of centre these days.
