What will happen with mortgage discussions?/
I don't know what you mean by mortgage discussions, but whoever's given you a mortgage is going expect you to insure what the loan is secured on. So best renew it pronto IMO.
Just sort new straight away. I switched ours yesterday. Who will know you've not had it prior?
They are going to give you a hard stare.
A stern tutting awaits you.
Scream when you walk in the room and hit you with a rolled up newspaper
You may have to conduct them naked.
Are you getting a new mortgage?
Just renew the insurance? Should take about 10 minutes to get a basic, buildings only policy.
Your pudding quotient will be extremely low.
Your wee to shoes ratio will be through the roof.
This happened to me, kind of. The dumb broker sent the renewal for my landlord insurance to the insured property (duh). The moron tenants left the letter (in their defence, they didn't know what it was) on the hall table for 3 months, when the letting agent collected it during an inspection, then stuck it in the file until I happened to pop into the office. True story. And yes, I know I should have been more on the case, but I assumed these things would auto renew.
So thank goodness said moron tenants didn't burn the flat down. Makes me sweat just thinking about it...
If you're really worried perhaps you could ask them to back date it when you take out a new policy?
You jest wwaswas but I wouldn't put anything past insurance companies when it comes to gouging punters.

I wouldnt bother. It's not going to burn down 3 weeks ago.
Just buy new buildings insurance, mortgage company need never know there was a gap

🙂
Quite a few household policies have a specific question about spells were you were not insured.
Some might not insure you if it's been a while...
We found out we were without any house insurance a few years back when we tried to claim and the insurance company said our policy expired 18 months earlier. Their emails had gone straight to junk mail it seems.
Just started a new policy.

SHHH will you as I have just opened a brokerage and I am willing to insure anyone, for any amount, for events in the past that did not happen.
Very generous terms offered and 100% risk free

As with all insurance nick, junkyard wouldn't be paying out because of the small print:
for any amount, for events in the past that did not happen.
