Company car lease has come to an end and I can buy it for a bit less that WBAC are offering.
What are the other easy ways to sell a car? It's been perfectly good to me but the new job comes with a new car so it's surplus to requirements
How much is “a bit less”?
Tbh I couldn’t be bothered with the hassle unless it was a lot less.
I'd happily let it go to someone who needed a sound car for the WBAC price and cut out the middle man if I knew anyone after an Astra estate Sports Tourer.
There's a few hundred quid in it for me, so worth a bit of hassle.
You may be able to buy it for less than the online offer, but that's unlikely to be what they are willing to pay after inspection.
WBAC offered 11280 on line and then about 10400 in person - I walked away. Motorway, Carwow?
In the end I spent few quid on an autotrader advert.
Why are you selling a company car? Just hand it back surely? And take out a new lease.
I'm changing jobs. The new job comes with a car.
The outgoing job has a convoluted scheme. I can either buy the car and make a bit, or hand it back and pay an early release fee.
hand it back and pay an early release fee.
Uh, no? "I quit, here's the keys."
Is it a personal lease?

Take it to a local dealer. Lots are desperate for stock. They'll probably go higher than wbac and it's an agreed price up front.
Cazoo offered way more than WBAC for ours. Irrelevant for us in the end as we decided to keep it, worth you checking though.
Cazoo and Evans Halshaw have both been better than WBAC when I got rid of our last two cars.
Just go to the local Vauxhall dealer and see if they want it and how much they'll give you for it. Least hassle, else put it on Motorway and let the dealers bid against each other for it.
Is it a personal lease?
Yep, company give an allowance towards a car that you personally lease from a different company that they own 50% of.
At least the new job it's a straightforward "here's your company car".
If you think about where a 3yr old Astra is likely to end up - it's on a JCT/Evans Halshaw etc etc type lot. So cut out the middlemen and just ask them, initially. An hour or so driving round any local to you has to be worth it.
Out of interest though - what's the spec? The now-previous gen Astra Estate in 200hp 1.6 turbo petrol format is a car I've pencilled in for next family bus.
Nothing like that. 69 plate 1.6 diesel, EcoTec Design trim.
Yep, company give an allowance towards a car that you personally lease from a different company that they own 50% of.
Right, that makes more sense.
But you said the lease had come to an end?
Lease has come to an end because I'm leaving the company. It either ends by me buying it, or ends by me paying a penalty.
It's not a great car scheme, or even a good one. There's been a recruitment drive recently and I heard that someone was offered the job but turned it down when they saw the fine detail of the car scheme.
I recently used Motorway, ended up selling to Perry's Ford group. Went for £1200 more than wbac. Was a simple transaction once all photos were taken.
See if your new place will give you an allowance instead of a company car until the lease actually runs out?
New company car is fully electric so keen to make the switch.
Thanks for all the comments. Cars are not something I normally give much thought to so was unaware of some of some of the alternatives to WBAC.
It's always been serviced at the same main dealer so trying them seems like a sensible start point.
Motorway normally offer the most.
When we sold our Discovery Sport we tried a couple of dealers, a local garage and the online people. Went with WBAC in the end as the prices were very similar and the drop off point was not far away.
