Can anyone point me I the direction of somewhere i might find an old copy of a web page.

Annoyingly i did mean to save a copy (and subsequently forgot) before i sent my complaint email and the page has since changed so the image at least (not the description still, and i have now printed a copy) now reflects what i received rather than what was shown and ordered.

I might be feeling a bit paranoid but get the feeling I'm about to get a "sorry that's exactly what is listed" type response.

It's not much stuff, nor expensive kit but i don't want to pay for the wrong stuff or return costs since they advertised it wrong. (It's a pair of tyres, shown and described as new burlier version, delivered as old much more flimsy very xc version that look fast as hell for this weather but I'll like as not destroy in a weeks glass and bramble filled commute and look like they'll be useless come winter*)

Google cache only gets me back to 03/07 and the new image. No luck on Waybackmachine.

*I'm assuming this weather goes on until November at least.

Why bother?  You've got 14 days to cancel the order and send them back under Consumer Contract Regulations, you don't need a reason.

I believe I'm (open to be) liable for [edit return] shipping at that point if i cancel though.

Error/not as described etc is their fault and their problem to deal with returns?

Have you tried just asking them first? If they're a reputable business they'll be aware.

How about an order confirmation - usually there is a part code or SKU number, sometimes even a photo. If it's two different tyres, they'll be two different SKUs.

They're well known at least... and their CS is famous.

Fortunately i PayPal ed so there's that option if needs be. I've dropped them a line as i say, the page has changed since but oddly no "oh ooops" has been forthcoming yet.

Did they tell you this clearly when you bought it?  If they didn't, you aren't.

Phone them if they're not responding to emails.

Is Dave Hinde still in business?

They did (and for an "i changed much mind" type cancellation i think that's perfectly reasonable tbh).

Phone them if they’re not responding to emails.

What is this? The 5th centuary? In honesty I'm pretty sure they will eventually answer, and depending how that goes all with either be right with the world or I'll want the answer in writing. Its quite possible I'm just making up a non existent problem for the moment I just have a nagging doubt.

Is Dave Hinde still in business?

Why do you say that? Should i not have ordered my wheels from him no? 😉

For an "I've changed my mind" cancellation, fair enough, yes.

If you're returning them as "not as described" under CCR though, which you are, then they are liable for postage costs.  So it boils down to whether they're prepared to accept that they're not as described given that, as per your OP, you can no longer prove it.
