I've currently got a Montane Minimus jacket which I use for biking and rough duties and a Rab Spark which I use for everything else, however I've never really liked the cut of the Rab, I much prefer the Montane.

Is there anything as good as the Montane (and similar cut) for £70 or £80?
I'd prefer not to spend another £120ish on another Montane if possible as I have a ton of other kit to buy.

Thanks

I don't know about as good as Montane but I have a Karrimor eVent jacket, Alpiniste I think, which was about that price and I really like it considering how cheap it was. Had it a year and it's still going strong although it hasn't had massive amount of use, that's more a comment on the perceived quality of Karrimor kit nowadays. I also have a soft shell jacket which cost £30 which has had a lot of use for more than two years and is great.

It would be for off the bike Stoner. I like my Montane for on bike, and it's too roughed up / dirty to wear in public.

Sorry Lodrik, I'm a small in Montane so doubt an XL, would suit. Ideally I would like something sub £100.

I've just bought a Patagonia Torrentshell that seems to be a nice bit of kit: Decent, adjustable hood, and comfortable to wear.

Picked it up for about £70.

I wouldnt wear my vapour storm on the bike as too nice to risk ripping.

But it's my favourite for mountain walking.
