I was expecting very little after seeing the trailers, I thought the CGI looked imposingly bad, but watched them both back to back and cried like a baby. Great stuff - not all the departures from the original book/film dialogue/plot worked for me, but I thought that were good. 🙂

Watched a bit of the first episode, I thought the animation was really pretty poor, there’s an advert on telly with a polar bear cub and a squirrel that kicks its ass.

Last summer, out on a ride, I'd stopped up on the Down for a bit. As I say, an American couple approached me, and very earnestly asked,"Excuse me, sir, is this where they filmed Watership Down?"

I saw Bill Oddie on Watership Down, Christmas Day about 6 years ago.

True story.

i'm normally an emotional wreck after Watership Down. Not so much this time. It was emotional, but i think there was an element of remembering the original and the emotions from that. Not to say this one was bad, but it just didn't beat the original

Course you can't beat swearing in a cartoon when you're 5 or so.
