Hello, can't see the bikepacking thread so what waterproof trousers for bikepacking, weeks not a few days, not bothered about price.
Not walking trousers as they're a bit rubbish at the job bike specific!
This is for the UK? Ive just bought a pair of Arcteryx beta goretex. Zips are OK, fit is ok, price surprisingly ok.
I think you first decide material, then find what fits
Depending on where and when you are going these work well when it’s not to cold as the rain is kept off and your legs don’t get hot and sweaty.
Be prepared for some questioning looks and ignore the picture of the steerer tube and stem set up 🙈
Edit (3): Hopefully the Amazon link above works, if not search for Cycling Rainlegs on Amazon
I always go for ones with full length zips.
They can leak a little on the bike, particularly around the knees, but they are usually a much more fitted cut, are a lot easier to get on and off, and give you more venting options.
Something that can be cinched in around the lower leg or is a snug fit there will stop them getting damaged by the chain/chainring - although for bikepacking I generally use a 3/4 cut down pair combined with waterproof socks, quite a bit less sweaty when pedaling!
I've got no suggestions with zero bikepacking experience but I have done (literally!) weeks in a pair of 7Mesh Thunderpants, aside from the rather fabulous name and big price tag they are superb! You can find them with discount codes etc, IIRC Stif may have had some depending on your sizing, but they are super goretex* and full length zips, cut to leg length, velcro ankle adjusters etc and rather awesome if a bit spendy.

* I have no idea on current goretex nomenclature but think it might be active or active 3 or similar.
Depending on how much of a sweater you are - dungarees are ace, but I only really use them on the ebike
