Mrs FD would like a waterproof MP3 player for swim training

They all appear to get very mixed reviews and all different price points.

Any recommendations?

One I wouldn't recommend is a Sony one, like this

Utter rubbish. Couldn't hear anything once you were swimming, extremely poor sound quality.

^ I can echo that experience (albeit older model Sony Walkman* as per pic below). Volume was minimal/useless, couldn't swim two lengths without stopping to remove earbuds and shake out the sound-deadening water. Maybe it was my ear-shape and couldn't get a good seal, but I gave up after 2-3 attempts as the constant faff was wrecking my swimming enjoyment. Put it this way - prior to receiving these I was keeping pace via internal (mental) playlist from songs I remember. The (techno, mostly Underworld) music in my head sounded better than these. In fact it was so good - I'll just keep using my head until finding something better. .

The only ones that have worked for me are the bone conduction ones

I bought the ex-wife a waterproof apple shuttle and she was pleased with it. This looks like a more sophisticated version :

So it sounds like they are all as bad as the reviews I’ve read already, although not seen that one before thanks TurnerGuy, unfortunately quite a bit out of budget !

I have a Waterfi shuffle, clips on the back of your goggles with a custom short earbud cord.

It is pretty good as long as you can put up with uncomfortable earplugs to get a seal. Once they have dropped out you won't get a good sound until you've dried everything again.

Seems like they are £180 on Amazon, but I don't think Mrs Dubs paid that much for it (was an xmas present).

Get waterproof Bluetooth headphones and leave your phone on the bag on the side

Hammy everything I’ve read says Bluetooth doesn’t work through water
