I'm after some multi use trousers.

For use watching the lad play football on a freezing cold morning, or that I can quickly put on after a run/bike ride, hill walking etc.

The only stipulation is 3/4 to full length zip on the sides. I used to have salopettes that I used to use for ski racing that you wore over your cat suit, but that kind of thing would be way to hot. I want something more than just a shell, but not ski salopettes type insulation or restriction in movement.

Any ideas? Ta

Our whole family has Berghaus Deluge waterproof overtrousers.

They are lined with mesh, 3/4 zips down the side so easy to put on or take off, available in short, normal and long leg for usually £50ish.

They are not thermally lined, but surprisingly warm and I canoe in them with either Merino longjohns or fleece trousers in depths of winter, shorts under in milder weather.

To add - I've also a pair of softshell Montane Terra Guide winter trousers. Very thin fleece lining, 3/4 zips again, but not fully waterproof. Much warmer.

Mine are older model of these.
