Anyone got a good source of repair patches - ideally non self adhesive and a wide variety of colours? Oddly difficult to buy anything but self adhesive emergency patches (or my googlefu is waning).
A clumsy moment with a kelly kettle and a kayak top resulted in a melted hole in my shoulder.....
Just out of interest, if the patches you use are non-self adhesive, what are you going to use to adhere them?
I use Tenacious repair tape. It doesn't meet your brief because it's transparent and self adhesive, but it works really well. I buy a roll, not patches and cut to size. A roll will last forever.

a kayak top? just get some tenacious tape on it and remember the good times. Its kit for using.
Is there anywhere on the jacket you could cut a repair patch from.
I did this recently on my 3rd best goretex.
Took it down to the local repair shop and he repatched both areas (£12) .
A bit of re-proofing and all good.
I could go down the tenacious tape route I guess....but this is a hole big enough (once the crusty bits are cut off) you could pass a golf ball through. I'd use the same tube if stomoprene that I used to replace the latex arm seals on the very same jacket on Wednesday 🙄. To be fair this jacket has had a long and glorious life so it doesn't owe me much but I think it has an adventure or two left in it yet!
How will you attach if it is not self-adhesive?
I have used Tenacious tape or spinnaker tape - or ideally a combination of both. Cut the patch corners rounded, warm everything up well and ensure clean surfaces. My dry trousers are 12 years old and the patch is lasting longer than the membrane now.
Golf ball sized hole? Dude, treat yourself to a shiny new jacket....
Google bushcrafting jacket if you are going to be dicking about with a Kelly kettle...
... I can take the piss because I also have a Kelly kettle.
