I've been looking for a cheap, tough, nice-ish watch for a while.

Had a g-shock which was lovely but was waaay to complicated, I couldn't do anything without consulting the manual. Anyway, after much pondering I settled on one of these Casio diver's watches:

Casio MTD-1054-1AVEF

Pics not mine but by way of example:

Easy to read, WR to 200m (not that it'll ever need to be!), quite pretty (I think), a sensible size and feels good on the wrist.

Most importantly it's also got two ruddy great LEDs that light up the whole face when you press the 2 o'clock button. Not sure they're quite bright enough to get you home (!) but they are bright like this:

Mine was a nudge over £40 delivered, I'm well chuffed.

I have exactly the same for nightriding. Bit heavy though.

Not bad, my £60 eBay/knock-off? Swiss Army has luminous hands & markings.

Some nice Sieko aviators watches, way cooler than divers' ones, they've got slide rules on teh bezel and stuff!

Don,

I have one of those - v. happy with it after over a year's usage.

The night light could be better (sickly yellow glow) but I guess it is limited by the watch being solar powered.

Liking that. Does it have normal pins for fitting another strap, or is it some weird proprietary arrangement?

I recently bought myself one of these:

Lorus Men's Titanium Watch.
Picked it up in the highstreet for £35. Titanium case, cystal crown, very light and accurate to better than a second a month. Waterproof too, and the hands glow in the dark.

The strap is screw in and i guess not standard, maybe you can see from this.

Why, if the watch is so double hard, does it arrive in the poncey foam filled tin?
