went to a local jewellery store to replace the batteries in my Tissot watch. The were going to charge me £30 and a 3 week lead time and guarantee the battery for 12 months. Is there anywhere online that someone can recommend that will reduce the turn around time and hopefully last longer than 12 months.

Look for a local watch or clocksmith, had mine done yesterday by a reputable guy nearby <£5.

DIY - it's an easier job than fixing a puncture, that's for sure.
It is annoying when you discover that a local jeweller and watch battery replacer has broken the movement of your watch though. And not mentioned it, and you don't realise until a week or so later when you haven't got the receipt any more 🙁
Battery replacement is simple.
Retaining that waterproofing and testing it less so, that's why you pay £30.
Timpsons. They'll pressure test it too.
My local jeweller replaced the battery in my 18 year old Animal watch for about £6.
It's not worked properly since 😥
I wouldn't trust Timpsons to tie my shoelaces based on previous key cutting experiences, but perhaps they're better at watch batteries.
I've just replaced the battery in Mrs S's Omega Constellation. It took me an hour and I've got all the tools. It was like stripping down and reassembling a molecule!
DIY, new oring if damaged, silicon grease and battery.
People think its witchcraft like wheel building
This is a better watch back remover:

Timpsons do a "watch battery for life" where they will keep replacing the battery FOC for the life of the watch.
This is great because the battery they put in only lasted 6 months but bad because I'm buggered if I can find the receipt!
, lots of problems with mine since at Timpsons unfortunately, as previously great service. Died a day after replacement bat, sorted it out, then alarm died, then filled with water at the pool this afternoon. 🙁Timpsons. They'll pressure test it too.

my local branch (a one man band in a hole in the wall shop) did it for me there and then, collect in half an hour, and pressure tested with a little certificate, about £25 IIRC
original battery in my g-shock lasted over 10 years. took it to a timpsons to get replaced last september, and went on holiday a week later. it was dead by the end of the holiday. this thread has reminded me that i should get it replaced again. and not at timpsons.
Time-Piece Watch Repairs if you're in the North West. £6.50 for a new battery and reboot to my Casio altimeter watch.
