People wash their tyres in the bath? Lol what's wrong with a sponge down whilst washing the bike, they'll only get dirty again, they're tyres!
Just the tyres? I've washed a whole bike in the bath.
I used to work in a hotel in the lakes, there was a very convenient disabled shower which was used for washing bikes, kit and rider after very wet rides, before going back to the accommodation.

I'm not known for being particularly fussy about a clean bike but there are a number of tree diseases that may be spread by cyclists and walkers. If I'm only riding in my local area, the bike tends to stay dirty but if I'm going somewhere else I'll clean the tyres before and after. A bucket of water and a sponge will suffice.
