Tried googling but still unsure.
Can this just be washed with normal detergent?
Doesn't need to be tumble dried?
Can hand wash soap be used?
Cheers folks
I doubt normal detergent, you shouldn't be using that on any technical kit!
I use Halo sportswash on all technical kit, and Nikwax wash out liquid soap on waterproofs.
Tumble dry if the care label allows, its good for water beading.
PS If you ever use fabric conditioner give the machine a boil wash/run a cleaner through it and clean out the detergent tray before putting any waterproofs near it!

SPECIAL CARE
FOR GORE-TEX SHAKEDRY™ GARMENTS
Washing garments made with GORE-TEX SHAKEDRY™ is slightly different as they have no textile outer layer. The outer layer is the GORE-TEX membrane itself so there’s no need for DWR.
- Machine wash on delicate cycle at 105°F / 40°C.
- Do not dry clean.
- Do not tumble dry.
- Do not iron.
- Do not bleach.
- Do not apply DWR treatment.
I wash all my sports/tech kit, including shakedry, in a delicates cycle in the washing machine using a very small quantity of Sainsbury's laundry liquid for delicates.
No more than half the recommended dose. Since everything tends to get washed after a single use of just a few hours it is more than enough

But reading those instructions they don't say you can't microwave it dry......
I wash mine with a hosepipe asap after a ride or have been known to wear it in the shower (if it's not my shower) I wouldn't be putting something that delicate (and now rare) anywhere near a machine wash.
Lows temps, low spin and regular (non-bio) detergent.
My shakedry jackets have outlasted all the other waterproof chancers. Still exactly the same performance.
Even for MTB I've only torn it once in years and patched it back up.
None of this useless DWR rubbish, which never worked properly after a few washes despite every magic trick going to render it back to new.
Big fan.
Even for MTB I’ve only torn it once in years and patched it back up.
I would never wear shakedry on a single track bike ride. I was horrified to discover recently that when material is held to the light I can see all the brambles etc have caused despite not actually ripping it.
Occasionally even on road rides branches etc brush against you
