The lights come on but no ones home, its stopped filling with water or turning but seems to be trying to go through the cycle and pump out at least.

It's been making a clicking noise as it turned for a few weeks which made me think bearing but why would that stop the water?

have you checked the waste pipe is not blocked? could have been loose change etc rattling round in the machine.

There should be a catch pot that can be removed to check for blockages.
Get a towel before you take it off though there will be water in there too.

Lots of gunk but no blockage.

Couldn't find any breaks in continuity or evidence of the PCB getting hot so I took the motor out* and had a look at the bushes. They're both at the end of their travel and one looks a bit burnt, quick clean up and stretching the springs a bit and it lives!

£200 washing machine saved from the tip for £0, bushes will be £11 when i get them but for now it lives!

*I love having a set of nut runnrs for my drill, makes every job like this feel like an F1 pit stop!

When you fit the new brushes, take the level sensor off the back of the drum annd clean it out.
