As above guys, I've got a engine management light that's come on. I'm wondering what it is, have no clue as I've not got a thing for it.

Most common trigger on a diesel is the EGR valve which usually represents itself as a slow pick up in the revs until the turbo kicks in.

It's a petrol NA model. No power loss at all through the rev range.

Can't help you then. Try TalkFord or StDrivers forums.

If you can't find one- do you own a laptop? F Super usb reader is about £16, well worth it IMO. Can read and clear codes, and is easy to use. Pays for itself first time you use it.

I know nowt about petrol mondeos though, because they smell of wee.

Are there any stores I can buy that reader from?

I got mine from these guys:

TBH I don't know if the vendor makes any difference. Oh, PS, I don't think it works with the V6s- but I reckon you'd have mentioned it if you had one of those?

I can vouch for the Super F too. If you where closer I could read and clear it for you.

I can travel too someone if they're semi-close. Just after sorting it out.

Also, yes it's a 1.8 i4 motor.

I was curious about if there was an actual physical store I could go into for one, like Halfords or something.

gmex- funnily enough, I was after one too, and have tried all the major factors round my way (Glasgow)- none have any in stock.

Halfords dont seem to do one, Maplin do but they have none in stock- bizarrely, Argos have one-

Machine Mart will do a code reader for £50 but probably need to order it in. It's expensive for soemthing that does less than the Super F.

Halfords used to sell the Gunsons' one, which was expensive and rubbish, but not seen it for a while. TBH universal ones are expensive and generally less useful. I think the only drawback of F Super is that it's not standalone, you need a laptop or a reaaaaallly long USB cable.

I'll be buying a Super F.

I have a laptop, it's with me 24/7. 🙂
