Any recommendations for such a thing?
Looking for something I can wear to the pub without making it entirely obvious I'm a climber/cyclist but that's still suitable for occasional dotting about the town on my bike. Ideally, not too heavily insulated, hood, showerproof and not too long.
This is the main contender thus far to give an idea what I'm looking for:

Cheers.
Have a look at Arc’teryx Atom. I’ve had one for years and it’s brilliant.
Thanks for that but I've already got a number of jackets of that ilk, definitely looking for something with more of a townwear feel.
How about this?

Warmish, shower proof, looks like a casual overshirt, not too long
A generic, plain black soft shell would fit the bill I guess.

This is my go-to.

I tend to wear my Rab softshell seeing as it's not much use on the hill.
Vulpine Harrington?
Surface snugflex hoody
One of my lads has a canvas 'field jacket', lined with fleece from Superdry. I always think it looks very comfortable and good on him, an ideal town and pottering jacket. I can't find the model online, but there seems to be a lot in that style.
Donkey jacket? They’re making a comeback , there was a thread on here a couple of days ago. On a more serious note how about a U.S. Navy Pea Coat?
I’ve got something like that Patagonia jacket (also Patagonia) but fleece outer and a kind of pertex liner. Very warm and good for dog walking or pub trips.
I'm looking at Passenger .....

Just in case anyone is interested I ended up getting one of these:

Well I’ve just this weekend got a Regatta hooded down jacket from £60 down to £30 and it’s brilliant so far. Not puffed up like a Michelin man but is shower resistant and nice and warm….
well recommended
