No, not the crappy BBC attempt, but the one on Fox.

Up to episode 3 now, and it's been really tight. Tense, pacey and a good effort from all on the screen.

It's not the most relaxing viewing in these strange times, but at least it's a demonstration that things could be worse.

Give it a go

We could be being attacked by Martians?

Giving how they get defeated it’s slightly ironic.

I stumbled on "A Quiet Place" on Channel 4 last night. Same kind of feeling, felt odd watching it.

I’m enjoying it also in a bleak “the road” type way.
Those robotic things could do with a drop of putoline though.
I also feel the whole thing could have been avoided with a song selection from the venga boys back catalogue.

I'm disappointed the robot drone things don't have three legs.

Is it me or is this getting worse? When they were in the hospital why didn't they just through blankets of the robo dogs then shoot them? And why aren't the bodies lying in the street started rotting and getting eaten by the dogs, cats, rats, and birds? And why aren't the survivours raiding the shops for bog roll?

>SPOILER<

Enjoying it so far although ep4 was a tad a tad slow. Do you think the kid conceived of an incestuous rape has special immunity? And yes those biomech "dogs" need a couple of sprays of WD.
What do they fire?

I'm guessing like you said it gives him some sort of immunity.

I've wondered what they shoot.

Last nights was a bit rubbish I found. I’ll stick with it though as it’s like watching morecambe and wise in comparison to the 6 o clock news.
The robo dogs seem pretty slow and cumbersome. Whatever munitions they fire seem to be finite. Makes them pretty useless at that point.

Ep 4 was slow, but the trail for the next episode looks like it's worth persevering

It certainly isn't perfectly thought out, but watchable.
After the effort and technology of invading a planet - you would imagine they would have brought a few more robot dogs to mop up survivors .. or maybe just repeated the pulse that wiped the majority out at random times for a few days/weeks after.

But I guess that's giving it too much thought!

I'm still really enjoying this series, its got me hooked! Why did they take the babies, why did they drag the french copper to then steal some of her organs, what is the deal with the blind girl and the french boy!

I've come to the conclusion it's slow and boring but I'm at the point now I've got to watch it to see what does/doesn't happen.

Only one more to go. Loved it pretty much. Been rationing it to no more than one a night.

Only up to ep6 on NowTv so far.

I think there's 8?

Have been enjoying it - it's a bit slow at times but still good.

It's a slow burn that's for sure with just enough to keep you interested.
The very first episode was by far the best.
The blind girl and the French kid - the fact that one is blind and one is 'tainted' means that genetically they are damaged or gifted in some way making them able to sense the baddies. The bot dogs intrigue me - seem very industrial given the tech that must have been used to get them here in the first place.

It's on Fox via Virgin Tivobox if that helps.

I'm enjoying it. It is wierd watching this and walking dead at the moment.

I was a bit disappointed when the two soldiers left the UK underground bunker in hazmat suits and no comms. Then they just let them back in and didn't shut the door in time. I would hope that would never happen. A bit too slap dash

Well that was disappointingly shit after a great start I have to say.
You could tell after 5 episodes it wouldn't conclude after 8.
Slow slow slow slow and yet more slow.
Don't think I can be arsed with the second series.

Well, I Just watched the final episode and don't think I'll bother with series 2. Way to slow and boring for me.

Should have never have been called 'War Of The Worlds' should have been called 'Inept Human Race Unable To Kill Small Rusty Dog'

Just watched six. Mrs. S has given up. I'll carry on I think.

How does that British guy expect to hit those dogbots by firing that HK416 from the hip?
Nobber.
