Firstly, sorry if this has been done to death...
Anyway, Ive been on Vodafone PAYG for years (8 years I think), didnt use it a huge amount, hence not getting a contract (ie was topping it up a fiver every couple months).
Ive now started using it waay more, so last couple months been buying the Vodafone Freedom packs, the £10 one has something like 200 minutes and 200 texts per month (the pack just lasts one month).
However, Ive used more than the allocated texts this month, so its back to paying 10p/text (how am I still paying that much?!) for the rest of the month until I can get another pack...
So, thought I may as well get a contract if Im spending over £10 a month on credit.
So, any good deals going around?
I already have a phone obviously, so can get a sim only contract, but its got a cracked screen, so something new would be quite nice. I get through phones pretty quickly though (out riding with them etc), so no point getting something too fancy I guess? Although a Blackberry would be nice...
Ive seen this which looks alright;

£10/month, 300minutes and unlimited texts.
But then theres this, which looks like its more expensive, and not such a good deal, whats up with that?

Basically, I dont know much about contracts at all, whats a good deal etc, so any help would be great- both sim only and with phone deals. Wheres a good place to get a contract from? Any service providers to avoid?
With the phones, if you bust them, do they replace them, or are you just screwed for the rest of your contract?
And whats the deal with keeping your number on another sim?
Sorry for all the questions!
Duane 🙂
The first one is SIM only and with the second one you get a phone. As for help try Money Saving Expert or comparisson sites.
O2 are doing a fee sims thing where they send you sim cards that if you top up £15 you get unlimited 02-02 calls and unlimited texts, think I may opt for that
