I noticed that the push-up path at Farmer Johns is actually a public footpath, and that there's a lot of woodland park in the area.
Anyone know if there's good places nearby to walk or play in the woods etc?
I plan on going again soon, and wondered about taking the wife and kids along too as it's school holidays anyway. They won't be riding but might like to see it all, but probably not for long so if there's stuff nearby to wander out to that would be ideal, then we can meet up.
It's a bit hard to tell from Google maps and a long walk along the road to reach a good area is no good.
Some ideas here

Ha, thank you. Didn't think that thread was still alive.
There’s nothing really for non riding youngsters near FJs. There’s a small park on the estate downhill from the vehicular entrance, but the push up hut is just off the main Glossop road. From there you could walk along the main road (there is a pavement) and walk into Etherow park, or from the main entrance you can walk into Compstall and through into Brabyns Park, both as mentioned in the other thread. Neither are close though in that regard
Or short drive to Lyme Park?
If it's practical, dropping you off at Famer Johns then they drive down to Etherow Country Park or Brabyns Park sounds like the best option. Once you're done, it's an easy whizz down hill to both for you to ride and meet them afterwards.

I'm the only driver so not all that practical! Hanging at FJ for a little bit and then me driving them there and popping back sounds most likely though if the walk down the road is too much.
Garden House in Marple looks good too.
