Cheers! !
They look fine to me, although I've not got that model.
I've got a couple of pairs that are a similar spec, and cost a similar amount.
I think as long as you avoid anything that's in the 'toy' category, i.e. aimed at kids, it'll be OK. I believe there's a 'standard' build for most domestic walkie talkies that defines the signal strength, hence most make/models will give a similar performance to one another.
Something to check is whether they're fitted with AAA rechargables, or a proprietary battery - you want to get something with the former as they're easy to replace if necessary.
I'm off camping with a few mates and loads of kids this Friday, so you've just reminded me what I need to pack 🙂
we used to send our kids out with them - but they always came back!
think we had some maplin specials and some others - battery life and convenience of recharging seemed biggest issue
once and only once we got some worrying weirdo on their channel - useful discussion point as in don't reply go tell an adult you know/come straight home

Back in my Uni days I used to work part time at Maplin. They had quite few consumer level two way radios which all had pretty much the same spec. All had upto 8km range and 8 different channels etc...
I think the regulations on these things must be quite tight so there isn't much room to do anything different. I'm sure the one from Idle will be up to the job.
