Hi I currently have a 2014 golf and apart from the usual wear and tear it’s been faultless. Until now. A few weeks ago I had a leak in the air con and the garage replaced the compressor. The air con was working fine blowing cold air but over the next few weeks I noticed that it wasn’t working as well as it should be. The main problem I’m getting is the fans inside the car keep blowing air when the ignition is turned off and you can’t adjust the fan speed either. I took it into a garage and after 2 days of having the car cannot fix the problem. They’ve even asked a VW tech to no avail. I’ve booked the car into the garage that did the air con for next week but what I want to know is this something the garage caused when they were replacing the compressor or just a fluke that this problem happened after the ac was sorted?

Sound more like you need a good auto-electrician.

Sounds like the control pack, however is it canbus and ECU controlled?

sounds like a fan speed resistor that's blown.
No idea why it's doing it when turned off.

Yeah that sounds like canbus problems. You need a diagnostic.
