Been customised a bit mind -

Not sure Im keeping the wheels/lowness/bonnet thing yet.. Looks better in real life, but not sure I can do with the attention it'll draw. Got all the bits to go back more stock if I decide to, but it'll probably stay as is. 🙂

Yep. Keep the banded steels, lose the stoopid bra.

Very nice van.

Bin the bonnet bra, although the bonnet may be pretty trashed paint wise under it.
Like the wheels though, especially with the beetle half moon hubcaps. Very 'scene'! 😉

Certainly keep the wheels. (Or sell them to me)

Lose the bonnet bra and paint the bonnet to match the roof.

Lose the wheels and bonnet bra, fit some grippy tyres on sensible wheels and raise it back up so you can venture away from roads to remote spots a lot easier. 😀

So scene it hurts...

Might want to fit the right size tires on those rims. Stretched tires are not cool.

It been lowered 80mm... not as low as the Mrs's stock TT, so no issue with speed bumps.

In two minds about the wheels... they look good in the flesh (much better than the photos - so much so I only just convinced myself to go look at it to begin with!), but they are mint with new continental tyres on. worth quite a bit on ebay I reckon! Plus the original wheels have new tyres too.

The hub caps are proper polished stainless, the back left was made slightly smaller so the side door opens. 80

Option 3 is paint the bonnet and wheels black!

What a weird option to choose.

A spacer for the slider rail is a more common way to solve that particular issue.

Looks like another tarted up tired old vw that probably cost loads more than something modern

Looks like the rail has a fat wedge under it as well.

Bin the bra, 76 ball, and yellow spotlight and that's a nice bus.

Congrats, any interior pics?

Looking at it...

Are those back arches even rolled? If the wheels are sitting proud (as they appear to be) that's an MOT fail if not Construction and Use regs (which = points and fine if caught). Can't see how that [s]tailplane[/s] rail is legal either, I thought you weren't allowed stuff sticking out where it could hit folk?

Not trying to deliberately look for faults but from here it looks sketchy.

Tyre tread needs to inside, not the actual wheel.

The rail is fine, mine is factory fitted and is wider than that.

Surely the wing mirrors would hit you before the rail if that's the case

Ah tread only, fair enough.

As for the mirrors - yes but they are designed to fold flat on impact, door rails aren't.

Sure is. 🙂 Older than me and nearly 100k on it, but it's still going strong.

Nice T4.. You ll have to have a good knowledge of your local pot holes and those funny off camber dips that seem to bounce you off the bump stops.. Although I wouldn't be surprised if the stops haven't been cut down already.

I'm not a VW nut but I reckon flog the wheels (both sets) and get a nice set of discreet but smart alloys with the cash, put the silly wedged door rail back in its proper place and lose the bra.

Less is more in my book...could get an interesting vinyl wrap to sharpen up the outside as I don't think the off white colour adds much.

2001, 130k miles, £ not silly. Its been well looked after.

Before anyone says I could have got a better transit, I didn't want a transit. 😛

Think I'm going to leave it as is for a bit (probably until the novelty wears off!), then look at getting some standard steel wheels painted black, the ones I have are rusted to hell and dinted up so not worth saving.

Slightly stretched tyres look great 🙂 stretched to the point that you can hook your fingers over the rim bead looks gash

As for the mirrors - yes but they are designed to fold flat on impact, door rails aren't.

Door rail is not spaced at the front, only at the back.

So unless you reverse everywhere it's not an issue 🙂

They factory fit huge door spacers on vans with twin rear wheels.

So, any singletrackers want some banded 16" wheels for your T4?

I'm selling the orange wheels, white wall tyres and stainless hub caps all together (check earlier in the thread for photos).

Going to take them off tonight and take some nice photos. let me know if you would like me to email the pics to you.

Looking for £600, open to sensible offers. Email in profile.

Cheers,
Steve.

Got a set of factory alloys if you fancy a swap, assuming nothing much has changed between T4 & 5.
email in the profile, I'd like to see pics anyway..
