Not that particular model but found the Passat in general a major let down. Worth looking at the 185 Mazda 6 - interior's not quite up to VW standards but it's a far better car in the handling stakes and you get far more for your money

Passat 140bhp saloon = best car I've ever had. Not quite up with the Mazda 6 in the handling stakes, but refinement, quality and comfort, it pwns it big time.

The CC coupe is a frikkin nice car - my mate has one. Even if you think the saloon is an old mans car, this is a world apart - stunningly nice car.

Dont listen to the tits above.

TurnerGuy - what do you drive (Audi?)

Our car list is quite restrictive....nothing over 150 carbons so most of the "performance" type of cars aren't on the list due to the "green" bollox thing going on at work.

The irony of the whole scenario is that the Chief Exec who champions the sustainability agenda drives an Audi 5.3l v10 R8

Love this car. Just had one delivered at work and it is very pretty, and very well specc'd on the GT.

Oops sorry - didn't realise you were after a 'comfort coupe'

Yeah old mans car - Insignia meets Mercedes? 😉

How can you fault that car pictured above (apart from the colour)?

Thankfully it was dark blue! Leather, satnav, bluetooth, 18" wheels and adaptive chassis control standard. And it is the Bluemotion 170ps, I'm sure he said its only 120 something g/km. Bound to be good, it's German!

Same engine as the one in my Skoda!

I like the engine in my Skoda.

Looks ok from that perspective but it's still a big lump.

It's easy really from my own practical perspective - it's neither a Hatch nor an Estate - neither is it even a proper Coupe for that matter 😉

And its a Passat - the most unreliable heap of junk I've ever owned.

Despite the example colour that's still a lovely car.

Alfas for me...

Seriously, look around at all the middle lane hoggers, people who drive unnaturally slow on country roads, those bad drivers who seem oblivious to whats happening on the road - a large portion appear to me to be Passat drivers, or perhaps I am just unlucky and notice them all.

I like the styling of the new Passat as it is probably the same guy that designed the 156s I had, someone Fiat should have tried to keep.

Ditto coolhandluke; I would think it's the same engine in the missus' 170 TDi Golf.

Schoolboy grinning at the ludicrous amount of torque, and 45 mpg. Drinks a lot of oil though.
