Considering replacing my current Polo with a salary sacrifice Golf which somehow will cost me less.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the latest iteration of the Hybrid Golf. I would be looking at Match spec.

The scheme means it has to be hybrid or full electric.

What Car magazine recently did a review between the Golf and Toyota Prius was suprised to see the Golf could travel a greater distance on its battery.

Ive been looking at Toyota Corrolla Hybrid, whilst not a plugin, there some pretty decent discounts for pre-reg on Carwow.

Not sure if thats any use of course:)

Glad to see the golf finally gets a proper hybrid option though still not for the estate 😕.

How far do you go in one trip? eGolf RRP is £36k and for that you could get an ID3 Pro Match - just a thought, pure electric doesn't work for everyone.

Looking at it, the digital dash is good - we have it in our Passat - and the nav screen is the same as is in my ID3 so will be the latest one which works well and the heating buttons light up in the dark (they didn't in the last version which is daft). Other than that it'll be a golf, ran my last one for 11 years and the one before that for 8.

Claimed pure electric range is just around 80miles. which covers 90% of my use cases. It's the 10% that's where pure electric makes me nervous. lack of charging where i go, distances, etc.

Why would it make you nervous? It's a hybrid, the petrol engine will kick in. I'd be very surprised if there is anyone out there that drives their hybrid in full electric mode only ( if you even can).

A pure electric is the issue not hybrid, I have a number of regular destinations with minimal charging options, and/or involve long drives with multiple charges needed, etc.

Think they are saying nervous of a full ev in relation to the ID3 suggestion.

I got excited for a moment, have been looking to replace my petrol golf estate with a Hybrid but yes, no estate.

Seat Leon, BMW 3 series or Volvo V40/60 seem to be the options but I'd probably have to overstate the environmental benefits to justify it.
