Any owners in the house? Please tell me about personal experience as family van and bike van, also experience on how easy to remove the 2 rows of seat in the back to fit 2 bikes without taking off wheels too. ..had a go with the nissan nv200 kombi in my local dealer.. For some reason it felt very cheap inside , and chairs doesnt felt very comfy...supposedly my 1st choice but might go for the caddy instead..the 7 seater not the van.
Had that.. Doesnt do well in roundabouts and country roads. 😡
A mate has had a caddy Max life since they first came out as his works van and family run around and MTB tour bus. It takes 5 large men and there stuff with 1 bike in boot and 4 on the rack.
Love mine. Been to France three times in it on mtb trips. Second only to a transporter really. 🙂
So does full bike fits without taking wheels without those two rows of seat?
Right - sat in one right now!
Rear row comes out in 20s with a single movement.
Fold the RH single seat forward and bike lives there almost full time wheels on. Still gives you seating for four.
Flip the double and three bikes will go in wheels on with three people.
Wheels off then you could easily fit four bikes - poss five with bars turned and five people.
It's very surprising how bike the load space is with the rear bench seat out.
We've had one for 6 years now (again, since first came out). Back row of seats is a heavy pain to install and remove but ours has only been in there a handful of times since we bought it. On the recent ones the second row can be removed as well (not on ours)
As others have said on bikes. We take front wheels off but you don't need to.
2 people, 4 bikes and loads of space for a multi-week camping trip.
I think the most we've had in was coming back from Tour of Flanders with 5 complete road bikes, wheels on, one in a hard case plus some holdalls.
If you took wheels off 4 people bikes and luggage should still be comfortable.
140 diesel drives really well (though gearing is for van loads so first is annoying).
Downsides - front seats could be better - too short in the thigh for me. It's a bit noisier and rattlier than a VW car. Rear suspension is pretty agricultural - solid axle and leaf springs means the ride in the back isn't the best (especially over speed bumps in town).
Also i've a Brodit proclip that fits to the left of the radio going spare if anyone wants it for the cost of postage. Don't need it now and too good to throw away
Bikes fit lengthwise with all seats down, wheels off you can fit bikes sideways with wheels in between, record for us is five so far 😉
