You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
We are currently travelling around India and I was trying to get to a website, for the northern kin festival, as it happens but I was getting a 403.
I know, I thought, I'll try the Google vpn.
But I instantly got a message saying it is not available in India. Oh well, tough.
But the really annoying thing is that now, and still after about 10 days I keep getting error message popups reminding me that "Vpn by Google" is not available in this region .
NB I definitely have Google vpn turned off
Any clue how to stop getting this message?
And no I don't want to vpn by other means at the moment.
Have you tried re-starting your phone/laptop?
I have now. I'll report back.
Thanks
I seem to recollect that India has forbidden the use of VPN’s, although I could be mistaking them for some other country with a nationalist authoritarian government - there’s a lot of it about these days…
Nope, the gates fix failed
Delete all cookies try that first, then block tracking cookies (if you have the option).
There was some talk at work of the Indian government requiring either local VPN servers or activity logs for VPN users, can't remember which. Came up in a meeting i had a while ago, there were a dozen or so countries asking for this sort of stuff, and not all of them are asking for the *same* stuff. So it all gets a bit complicated for privacy type data. So some VPN providers are now either blocked, banned or simply don't provide the service at the moment.
