Does it work?
I got a very basic HRM watch and like the data, but as it is cheap, the software is rubbish so I'd like something with better software and a better UI and a bit smaller. The Vivosmart ticks all the boxes and I also like the look of the stress analysis, but was wondering if its a bit made up or if it really works?
I dont need GPS, so don't need a Fenix, but also thinking about the Vivosmart 4. What does the 4 do that the 3 doesn't?
I have it on my fenix but find it pretty pointless. Might just be my happy relaxed nature though.
Find just the basic heartrate graph more useful.
As above, it’s pish. Can think of one occasion where it’s results tied in with what was happening at the time, otherwise it’s been useless
I think it just uses resting heart rate, so it does pick up on stress but it also goes up after exercise, or a big meal. I'm not sure what the benefit is supposed to be.

I’ve never worked out the point. I generally know if I’m stressed.
Edit; for the avoidance of doubt, I have a vivosmart 3, and am underwhelmed.

I like it as a basic fitness and sleep tracker, and if I'm honest, i'm a geek and like the graphs and numbers it generates.
But the stress measure is largely pointless IMO.
I've got a Forerunner 245 which does stress measurement and most of the time it seems pretty accurate with how I'm feeling. Remember it is measuring stress in the medically correct sense of the term rather than 'feeling stressed' - so will show mid to high levels of stress when doing physical activity for example. It's pretty good and picking up my introverted tendencies - being at a party for example won't feel stressful to me at the time but would leave me knackered later; it picks up as higher stress for that.
Not sure about the Vivosmart, but the Forerunner measures stress from heart rate variation rather than resting HR; the more stressed you are the smaller your heart rate variation is.
