We're looking at booking a short notice trip to France but my wife (a South African) can no longer travel visa free in the Schengen area. Thanks Brexit.

Is there any work around for this conundrum? She is unwilling to just wing it and hope no-one checks as we roll into or off the train.

The UK was never part of schengen. I fail to see what Brexit has to do with a South African entering France?

My south African mate used to be able to come to Aberdeen for beers when in Holland training....

Now he can't specifically since Brexit.

The Brexit element is that previously she could travel within Schengen visa free as my spouse. Post Brexit this is no longer the case.

Anyway, avenues have been exhausted and we'll stay in Blighty this year.
