I live in Garnant, a village in Carmarthenshire. It translates into english as 'rough stream'.
And then I saw this:
There's a village (hamlet) near me called Scronkey. According to the urban dictionary it means
"something that hits the window as a result of a violent sneeze"
Or
a mans scrotum so ratchet looking and barely the size of penis on a monkey
I doubt whoever actually named it had either of those things in mind though!
I live in an area called Lickham Bottom. Some members of the family take great pleasure in writing that on any post they send to us!
Just near me is a place called Bedlam. Trust me, it's freaking crazy there.
Wetwang always makes me laugh.
I grew up just down the road from Bell End.
My dad lives near Upperthong. Much to MrsTHtobe’s amusement
Orkney always wins this competition doesn't it

Tom - there’s also a Netherthong and a Middlethong.
How about Bolton Percy?
Nowhere near as good but I grew up in the village of Loose (pronounced Loos), home of the famous Loose Women's Institute.
I rode through Bolton Percy last week and whilst on that ride i came across a sign post for Biggin Little Fenton!
There’s a hamlet near me, on the way to Castle Combe, called Tiddlywink!
Lickey End near Bromsgrove
Tom – there’s also a Netherthong and a Middlethong.
Yeah I know, they don’t garner the same tittering response though
Paradise is just outside Askam in Furness
Grew up in Ugley (yes, that was fun at school), and now Cocks is not far away.
Green cockpole near Wallingford.
Nether wallop near the white peak.
I always regret not getting a photo outside the Working Mens Club in Idle..
Its Netherthong thats between Thongsbridge and Upperthong. Where is Middlethong?
I’m currently just down the road from Uberfritz****
Slightly different would be that I used to live in a cottage called “round the bend” which was errrrr on a bendy corner of a road and drove all of us living there round the bend too 😝😂
