Perhaps we need a massive countrywide crowdfunder to secure "common land" for future generations?
I saw this. What protections are available for green space in England? My parents have a large green in front of their house. It's been used for recreation for about 30 years now. However lots of new housing is being planned in the area. I'm sure developers would eye up this space at some point. What can be done to stop them? Also how would you find out what protection it has currently?
The New Enclosures...
The article seems to suggest that the group tried to register the land as a village green despite some of it being earmarkerd for school expansion, followed by a decade of appeals and prevarication. All pretty normal in access law and not a new threat to access, unless I've missed something.
(I've a bit of experience in this, having registered the Town Field in Doncaster a few years back.)
The New Enclosures…
Quite.
All pretty normal in access law and not a new threat to access, unless I’ve missed something.
Well the school expansion would affect access presumably.
If you want to know how safe your village/town/city is from developers look at what’s being built in Harrogate. Nothing is sacred anymore and no extra infrastructure is being put in place. You can thank the tories for that too.
